Ignore The Bombs Because Pearl Harbor Is A Love Story

PEARL HARBOR (2001) is NOT a war movie, according to its producers, who are nervous that the $175 million (£135 million) epic might bomb in Japan.

Dollar-obsessed movie executives are trying to market the most expensive movie ever made, as a love story that just happens to take place against a backdrop of blood, guts and sinking American warships.

The film's world premiere is tomorrow at the real Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. IYOKO KISHI, a spokesperson for the film's distributor BUENAVISTA INTERNATIONAL JAPA, says, "It's entertainment, a love story. We're confident that the film can appeal to a wide audience. " (RM/WNSSU/ES)
