Travolta's Water Woe

Movie star JOHN TRAVOLTA could find himself in trouble with the police in Los Angeles - after claiming to be a false hero.

Travolta was out cruising through Sunset Boulevard in March (01) with his son JETT when he accidentally reversed into a water hydrant.

The PULP FICTION (1994) star then revelled in the praise of being a model citizen for phoning in the subsequent flood. But his comic admission on last night's (15MAY01) LATE SHOW in New York could land him in hot water with Los Angeles authorities.

He says, "I drove around to see if the water was hitting Sunset and it was flooding Sunset. I said to Jett, `We've got to report this. ' So I went home and I said, `Someone has hit a fire hydrant, someone must report this. ' "The fire department were grateful and all day long everyone was saying what a great citizen I was. By five o'clock I had to admit the crime to my family. I still haven't admitted it to the police. " (KL/WNV/ES)
