OSCAR winner RUSSELL CROWE has made winning back MEG RYAN's heart his next goal.

The pair, who met on the set of blockbuster PROOF OF LIFE (2000), split when the GLADIATOR (2000) heart throb went back to Australia without the SLEEPLESS IN Seattle (1993) star. Australian Russell has been inundating Meg's New York apartment with expensive gifts and endless flowers.

According to American magazine GLOBE, it's Ryan's turn to play it cool - rather than spend Easter with her back-tracking ex-lover, she went to her hideaway in Montana.

However, its been reported that it's only a matter of time before the two become an item again, although contradictory stories point at a reconciliation between Ryan and hubby Dennis Quaid after they attended their son's birthday celebrations together. (SC/WNTRE/ES)
