BRAD PITT is going rock'n'roll - he's considering playing tragic singer-songwriter JEFF BUCKLEY on the big screen.

Buckley, who drowned in 1997 at the age of 30, was the son of folk singer TIM BUCKLEY, who died from a drugs overdose at the age of 28.

According to America's SPIN magazine, the SE7EN (1995) hunk is keen to play Buckley Junior, and is reported to have asked the star's mother MARY GULBERT for her consent to make a film about his life.

The script of the proposed movie reportedly features a Buckley- type character, who is only referred to as THE MUSICIAN, and will contain lots of flashback sequences. (NFA/WNWCAN/CPT)
