Oscar winning actress MARCIA GAY HARDEN was kicking herself after her acceptance speech at the 73rd annual ACADEMY AWARDS - because she forgot to thank the waiters and waitresses.

The POLLOCK (2000) actress vividly remembers the years she spent waiting on tables in New York, and wished she'd managed to stick to the vow she made back then to thank all her colleagues.

She says, "As an actress who came up in New York waiting tables, I swore if I ever won an Oscar, I'd say thank you to all the waiters and waitresses who covered my shift for me so I could run up to take the subway for theatre auditions." "But with 45 seconds, you can't get the waiters in."
