Hollywood legend CLINT EASTWOOD is to direct a new murder mystery based on the novel MYSTIC RIVER by DENNIS LEHANE.

Although he will direct the film, Eastwood is not expected to appear in it. Mystic River tells the story of three childhood friends called SEAN, JIMMY and DAVE. Their relationship ends when one of the boys is kidnapped. Twenty-five years later, the men are reunited and become linked by a murder investigation after Jimmy's oldest daughter is killed.
