Danny Devito Has High Hopes from Erin Brockovich

Hollywood funnyman DANNY DEVITO is lobbying hard for ERIN BROCKOVICH to win the Best Film award at the OSCARS (25MAR01).

The pint-sized actor's production company JERSEY FILMS financed the STEVEN SODERBERGH-directed movie. Soderbergh is nominated in the Best Director category for both Erin and TRAFFIC. He has refused to lobby for either film.

Devito says, "I hope people will look at both films, terrific works by a talented man and everyone will vote for Erin Brockovich." DeVito is currently directing DEATH TO SMOOCHY, with ROBIN WILLIAMS and EDWARD NORTON. (RP/WNWCAN/KW)
