Cable Glitch Shuts Down High-Speed Internet Service in Midwest

As of Friday, a "small percentage" of AT&T's Excite@Home high-speed Internet subscribers in the Midwest remained cut off from the service, one week after a technical glitch completely shut it down for 150,000 customers, the trade magazine Broadcasting and Cable reported on its Internet site. A spokesperson for the cable service said that a server controller had "just crapped out."
