Top Critics Handicap Oscars On Web

A number of top film critics are contributing to a Web site handicapping this year's Oscars race.

The critics, who include Thelma Adams of US magazine, David Germain of the Associated Press, Leonard Maltin of Entertainment Tonight, Jack Mathews of the New York Daily News and Joel Siegel of Good Morning America, had previously posted their predictions for Oscar nominations. Each was able to predict about 75 percent of the nominees in the major categories.

The Web site is the brainchild of Tom O'Neil, author of Variety's books on The Grammys, The Emmys and the movie awards (Oscars, Golden Globes, Film Critics', etc.)
