Concerned that a highly promoted scene on Thursday's night's episode of Survivor: The Australian Outback was too graphic for younger viewers, CBS asked producer Mark Burnett to edit the scene, the New York Daily News reported today (Tuesday). Part of the scene was included in a promo that aired at the end of last week's episode, showing a contestant smearing blood on his cheek. Burnett told the Daily News that he readily complied with the network's request. "We haven't lost any of its drama, and at the same time, the scene is more sensitive to the 8 o'clock hour. ... I'm happy with it."
