MATT DILLON is set to make his debut as a director - with French star GERARD DEPARDIEU as his leading man. The French GREEN CARD actor will be play the main role in the film UNDER THE BANYAN TREE, alongside JAMES CAAN and Dillon himself. The storyline has not yet been revealed, but Depardieu will play an expatriate living in Cambodia. Filming will start later this month (FEB01). (VH/WN/KW)
