U.K. Disney Channel Chief Says BBC Is Trying To Compete For Ratings

Disney Channel U.K. has expressed concern about the BBC's recent "aggressive scheduling" and its addition of "imported shows," presumably from the U.S. Speaking with the British TV industry news site Produxion.com, Disney U.K. managing director Paul Robinson said, "The BBC should be doing programs that are not already provided. I am just worried that the BBC is competing too strongly for ratings." Robinson's comments were made in connection with the BBC's move to expand its offerings by launching new channels on the digital spectrum.
