CNN is planning a major revamp of its financial spin-off CNNfn in which it will emphasize personal finance rather than business news, officials of the cable network said Wednesday. It will also be renamed CNN Money. The move, due to be effected in about two weeks, appears to be an effort to counterprogram the channel against CNBC, the dominant channel for Wall Street coverage. The overhauled channel will also include stories about the market during the day but will apparently target mainstream viewers at night with features prepared with the help of Time Inc.'s staff at Money and Fortune magazines, reports said.
