Rupert Murdoch has intimated that if he is unsuccessful in acquiring Hughes Electronics' DirecTV (or Hughes Electronics itself), he may not proceed with plans for an initial public offering of his Sky Global Networks. In an interview carried by CNBC Asia on Thursday, Murdoch said. "There may not be an IPO. ... We have to conclude these conversations with these American satellite broadcasters, and see whether we can effect a merger between our interests around the world and interests here. And then we will see if that happens."
