A Hollywood screen writer is suing the makers of hit film NOTTING HILL for allegedly stealing his ideas.
NICK VILLIERS says he gave the film's producer ERIC FELLNER, a manuscript for a film called CHEEK in 1988, and claims many of his ideas in the manuscript later appeared in the HUGH GRANT and JULIA ROBERTS flick.
The allegation outlines supposed similarities between Villiers' ideas and Notting Hill, including a similar setting in London, and a theme involving an ordinary Englishman who meets and has a romance with the biggest star in the world.
Mr Villiers is suing for $15m (£10m) for breach of a confidential relationship, fraud and misappropriation. (RP/WNCBB/KW)
