Survivor Star Hatch Linked To Game Show

Survivor winner Richard Hatch may wind up as the host of a game show himself. According to published reports, he is taping an NBC pilot in London of a U.S. version of the British hit The Weakest Link. The show features nine contestants answering Trivial Pursuit-type questions.

At the end of each round, the contestants vote off the worst performer. The final survivor wins all the money. In Britain the show is fronted by Anne Robinson, a no-nonsense "presenter," who at times has insulted contestants, dismissing many with the curt comment, "You're the weakest link. Goodbye." Producers apparently hope to achieve a similar edginess to the U.S. version with Hatch, whom many regarded as the rogue of the original Survivor series. According to reports, two pilots are being shot on the London set with American contestants -- one with Hatch and one with Robinson.

Today's New York Times suggested that Robinson may have the edge, quoting a senior NBC exec as saying, "Anne Robinson is the show. ... We don't care about her British accent."
