American Music Awards Make A Come-Back


The American Music Awards scored an 11.8 rating and a 17 share Monday night, slightly improving on its numbers from last year (11.5/17) and substantially bettering its 1999 results (10.3/15), when it drew its worst ratings ever. The results gave ABC a win for the night with an average 11.9/18. CBS's Everybody Loves Raymond produced the best ratings for the night (13.5/18) to lead CBS to a second-place finish (10.5/15). Fox scored strong numbers with Boston Public (8.8/13) and an episode of Ally McBeal featuring Anne Heche (9.4/13) to lift it to a third-place finish. NBC dropped to fourth place with a 5.8/8 rating.
