The BBC announced Monday that it is planning to produce a TV drama based on the London Times columns of John Diamond, who has chronicled his three-year battle with cancer not only in the newspaper but in a book, C: Because Cowards Get Cancer, Too and in a TV documentary. A Lump in My Throat, a stage play based on his columns, was produced in London last year by writer Victoria Coren and will be adapted for the television production. The BBC said that the drama will star Diamond himself.
