Farrell May Star Opposite Cruise In Minority Report

Irish newcomer Colin Farrell, whose performance in Joel Schumacher's Vietnam film Tigerland has received high praise at film festivals, is reportedly close to a deal to co-star with Tom Cruise in DreamWorks/Fox's Minority Report, according to ShowBizIreland.com. The Web site quoted sources close to Farrell as saying that the actor met with Cruise, who is also co-producing the film, and Steven Spielberg, who is directing, about presumably taking on the role that was originally offered to Matt Damon, until Damon's earlier commitments conflicted. According to ShowBizIreland.com, Farrell was offered $1.5 million plus an unspecified share of back-end profits. The film is expected to begin shooting on April 1.
