The ACADEMY OF MOTION PICTURE ARTS AND SCIENCES has prepared two sets of OSCARS this year (01) in a bid to outwit thieves.

Following the theft of more than 50 Oscar statuettes right before last year's (00) Academy Awards broadcast, organisers of the awards now intend to have a full set of 55 Oscars locked in a vault at its headquarters.

Three men were eventually charged with stealing the statues for the last ceremony, and one is currently behind bars. All but three of the statuettes were recovered in time for the ceremony.
