HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS has scored a double victory - topping both the American and English Box Office charts at the same time.

The film made just over $4.5 million (£3 million) from British cinema-goers over the weekend (02-03DEC00), knocking CHARLIE'S ANGELS off the top spot.

The big-screen version of the cult 70's TV show only made $3 million (£2 million) in its second week in cinemas. (KW/WNWCAN/CPT)
