Sylvester Stallone is poised to reprise one of his most iconic roles in an Instagram post teasing the return of 80s action hero John Rambo.

The post, a picture from Rambo’s last appearance in 2008’s Rambo, teases the start of principal photography on the eagerly anticipated Rambo V which was officially announced this past May for a 2019 release date.

Based on the acclaimed novel 1972 First Blood written by David Morrell, the Rambo franchise followed a Vietnam War veteran unable to escape a life of violence upon his return to the United States and later attempts to find peace in remote locations abroad.

Originally, Stallone had been expected to star in a fourth and final Expendables film which was scheduled to begin production this summer but the project was delayed after Stallone instead signed to star in a fifth Rambo film.
