New Guy, The (2001) - Synopsis
A teen comedy directed by Ed Decter, the co-writer of There's There's Something About Mary (1998). Nerdy high school senior Dizzy Harrison (DJ Qualls) has finally got lucky - he has a second chance to be the guy with no past in The New Guy, a comedic story about wiping the slate clean & reinventing yourself. Transforming from dud to stud at a new school with the help of Luther (Eddie Griffin) geeky Dizzy becomes cool Gil Harris and sets out to destroy the popularity-obsessed social system, boost school morale and win the heart of Danielle (Eliza Dushku), the gorgeous girl next door. Also stars Lyle Lovett & Zooey Deschanel.
