Cocoon (1985) - Details

Cocoon

Aliens masquerading as regular people return to earth to retrieve some mysterious objects from the ocean floor and in the process unwittingly give some old timers regained youth. This is a beautifully heartwarming story that will make you both laugh and cry. Romantic sub plots make this a good chick flick. Outstanding original score by James Horner. Interesting use of dolphins as peripheral characters. Steve Gutenberg plays the lead role as the ship owner with comic flaws. Brian Dennehy is the leader of the aliens. Don Ameche, Wilford Brimley, Hume Cronyn, and Jack Gilford give wonderful, engaging portrayals of the adventurous seniors. Ron Howard director. Synopsis By Rich Blumenthal
