Italian Job, The (1969) - Details

When Charlie Croker (Michael Caine) is released from prison, the first thing he does is organise a daring raid on a bullion shipment in Italy. Under orders from the still-imprisoned crime boss, Mr Bridger (Noel Cowerd), Charlie and his gang of questionable accomplices set off for the continent in a fleet of Austin Minis and a coach. Using a big football match as cover for the operation, the gang causes traffic mayhem in the city as a diversion during the getaway. This leads to one of the most famous car chases in cinema history.
