Other Side of Heaven, The : Movie Review

One of the first words that comes to mind about this movie is that it is daring. Daring because it approaches such a delicate subject. In our society, a film that mentions God or Jesus Christ in a respectful way is almost taboo, yet films depicting violence, sex or murder are widely accepted, even commonplace. This was such a refreshing change. It was an incredible movie. There are missionaries all over this world from many different faiths. Missionaries who have sacrificed to help make the world a better place. Besides sharing religion, they are opening schools, and improving living conditions. They should be celebrated for their capacity to care so much about all of God's children. I have so many luxuries and yet there are people with so little. John Groberg left these luxuries to serve others, and realized that though the people on these islands had very few material possessions, that they had really what is most important. Simple things that we take for granted. This film has made me a better person, and helps me want to come out of my comfort zone, to do what I can to help others. I recommend it to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I also recommend it to any one wanting to know more about that religion, or any one who knows anyone of that faith, to better understand what the church represents. The cinematography is incredible, it truly was heaven to watch this movie.
