Jennifer’s Body stars Megan Fox (Transformers, How to Lose Friends and Alienate People) as Jennifer Check. Jennifer is the sexy (need we say it?) captain of the school cheerleading squad. However when she becomes the target of a local rock band looking to hit the big time – by way of a Satanic ritual that requires the sacrifice of a girl – she ends up being possessed by a demon and turns into a succubus.
Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia!) stars as Jennifer’s BFF (Best Friend Forever) Anita known by her nickname of Needy. She actually manages to out-sex (big surprise) and out-act (little surprise) Megan Fox. Of course J.K. Simmons (fast becoming a regular of Cody Diablo films – even if there have only been two) out-acts everyone, as he normally does, even if he’s not in that many scenes.
Jennifer’s Body is written by Diablo Cody, who penned the excellent Indie hit Juno. It’s ably directed by Karyn Kusama (Girlfight), it’s a funny and fun teen horror film with plenty of dark humour. And although Jennifer’s Body is not nearly as good as Juno, it’s still worth taking a look at!
