Bon voyage : Movie Review

Bon voyage (2003) - Movie PosterBon Voyage, by Jean Paul Rappeneau
with Isabelle Adjani, Gérard Depardieu, Grégori Dérangère, Yvan Attal, Virginie Ledoyen, Peter Coyote,. ..

Rappeneau doesn't make a lot of movies. .. that's why each of them are important. .. Director of "Cyrano de Bergerac" or more recently "Le Hussard sur le toit", Rappeneau is used to a kind of historic movies.
The plot of "Bon voyage" takes place in France at the beginning of World War II, between the 14th June and the 18th June, 1940. Viviane, a famous actress commits a murder, and it's her friend, Frédéric Auger, a writer, who is condemned. He would escape of jail with a friend of his when the nazi army will come into Paris. .. They will runaway until Bordeaux, and meet Jean-Etienne Beaufort, a french minister played by Depardieun and in love with the actress. They also will have to help Camille (Ledoyen) to sent important physical works to England. ..
In spite of the tragic theme of the period, above all for french people, Rappeaneau made a pleasant movie, very funny, and entertaining. .. The rythm is quite fast and the direction too. .. But too many characters may blur the plot, a little difficult. .. The actors are all good, above all the young Dérangère, unknown till that movie. the others seems to have a lot of fun, and the spectaors may feel that through the screen. .. some scene are hilarious ! the historic details are really precise. .. during the film, we can see Philippe Pétain, and even de Gaulle !
One of the best film of the year, very smart and funny, and made for the whole family. .. do not miss !!!
