Star Trek: Nemesis : Troy, Data and director interview


A star studded celebrity line-up attended the European Charity Premiere of Star Trek Nemesis last night.

Patrick Stewart, Brent Spiner, Tom Hardy and the rest of the crew were in attendance for the evenings entertainment, and then went on to the Star Trek Adventure show in Hyde Park for the aftershow party.

STUART BAIRD (Director) first made his mark in the motion picture industry as one of the top editors in the business with his first editing credit being the rock opera “Tommy,” directed by Ken Russell. He followed that with the first of many collaborations with director Richard Donner, editing such films as “Lethal Weapon,” “The Omen,” “Maverick” and “Superman,” for which he garnered an Academy Award® nomination. He later nomination for his editing work on “Gorillas in the?received a second Oscar Mist,” directed by Michael Apted. Baird’s other editing credits include “Valentino,” “Outland,” “Superman II,” “Lethal Weapon 2,” “The Last Boy Scout,” “Demolition Man” and many others.
Baird made the transition from editing room to director’s chair with the 1996 action thriller “Executive Decision,” starring Kurt Russell and Steven Seagal. He followed that with “U.S. Marshals,” starring Tommy Lee Jones and Wesley Snipes.

BRENT SPINER (Lieutenant Commander Data/Story) has portrayed the android Data for all seven seasons of the television series “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” as well as in the subsequent “Star Trek” feature films. For his work in “Star Trek: First Contact,” Spiner earned a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Science Fiction or Fantasy Film. His additional film credits include “Independence Day,” “Phenomenon” and “Out to Sea” opposite Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon. He most recently starred with Dana Carvey in “Master of Disguise” and made a brief cameo in the critically acclaimed “I Am Sam,” starring Sean Penn and Michelle Pfeiffer.

MARINA SIRTIS (Commander Deanna Troi) has portrayed the half-human, half-Betazoid Troi for seven seasons of “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” as well as in the films “Star Trek: Generations,” “Star Trek: First Contact” and “Star Trek: Insurrection.”

Sirtis’ dramatic and comedic range has also created opportunities beyond “Star Trek.” On the small screen, Marina was a series regular on “Gargolyes.” She has also guest-starred on “Stargate SG-1,” “The Outer Limits,” “Hunter,” “Diagnosis Murder” and many others. Her feature films include “Peace Virus” opposite Michael Nouri, “Paradise Lost” with William Forsythe, “Blind Date” with Kirstie Alley, “The Wicked Lady” with Sir John Gielgud and Faye Dunaway and “Death Wish 3” opposite Charles Bronson. Most recently, Sirtis wrapped the film “Net Games” with C. Thomas Howell and Ed Begley, Jr.

In STAR TREK NEMESIS, the Enterprise crew find themselves on a diplomatic mission to initiate peace with the Romuluns. But upon arrival on the alien planet, they are faced with a threat that could lead to Earth’s destruction, and Captain Picard meets his most dangerous adversary yet.
