You’d have to be a baseball lover to truly adore this film, and as there aren’t many British baseball fans, that pretty much means you have to be American. And if you’re American you’re more likely to fall under The Rookie’s sentimental, homespun spell.
But Brits are cynical football lovers so for most this will be irrelevant, sappy and overlong.
