Avalon : Movie Review

"Tiresome arthouse sci-fi about an illegal virtual reality game."

Lauded by James Cameron and compared to The Matrix and eXistenZ, this Japanese film shot in Polish is not as thrilling as it sounds. In fact, kids, it’s as dull, dull, dull as when daddy takes the Xbox away.

Set in an oppressive near future where you can earn a living from playing virtual reality games, Ash (Foremniak) is a junkie to a game called Avalon. An expert player, she risks its biggest pitfall - brain damage.
