Pitch Perfect 3 (2017) - Movie Poster
There’s a new aca-awesome home entertainment release in the Pitch Perfect series. Pitch Perfect 3 is available on digital on 16th April and blu-ray and DVD on 23rd April, from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment.

The Bellas of Barden University are back for one last call in Pitch Perfect 3. Beca, Fat Amy and the rest of the Bellas are off to face a post a cappella champion world in the high-spirited closing act to the franchise that sparked a worldwide phenomenon. Filled with all-new musical performances, a hilarious gag reel, never-before-seen deleted footage and exclusive behind-the-scenes features.

The Bellas have graduated from college and are now in the working world. But they’ve realised that it takes more than a cappella to get by and that finding and keeping jobs is more difficult than they expected.

After the highs of winning the World Championships, the Bellas find themselves split apart. But when they get the chance to reunite for a European USO tour, the Bellas get together again to make some music, and some questionable decisions, one last time.

Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson lead the cast of Bellas in this final film in the series. It lacks the originality of the first film but it still delivers some great musical numbers and plenty of laughs. Laughs that notably come from the interplay between Elizabeth Banks and John Michael Higgins who steal all of the scenes that they appear in together with their acerbic wit. They’re very funny and riff perfectly off one another.

A sub plot alongside the main storyline of the Bellas performances is about Amy’s criminal father, Fergus, trying to work his way back into his daughter’s life after many years of being estranged. Fergus is played by John Lithgow with gusto although he doesn’t really have enough to do. Of course it’s a large ensemble cast and they all have their parts to play taking the focus away from Anna Kendrick somewhat, but Kendrick will no doubt not be too troubled by this as she has moved onto other projects. It’s to her credit that she has stayed with the Pitch Perfect series for the full trilogy. This third film works just as well as a stand alone film as it does a closer to the trilogy.

For a limited time only the DVD, Blu-ray and respective boxsets will all include an exclusive bonus disc, featuring a whole host of aca-awesome content. Fans will be treated to new features on the Bellas through the years, Aca-boot camp: Round 3 and much more!

All three films from the Pitch Perfect franchise will also be available as a 3 movie collection available on DVD & Blu-ray.
